She is My Everything

standupgirlDear Becky,

i found out i was pregnant 28 april 2009. i was only 17 and in my first year of university. i was so lost, sad and confused. all i could think about was how i was going to get myself out of the situation. i cried myself to sleep thinking i had let myself and my parents down. life was just miserable. the first person i told was my boyfriend. he said he'd support me in whatever i decided. just the thought of being a mom at 17 made me fill so sad.

i knew nothing about babies and felt i wasnt capable of being a mother. i wrote to a member of stand up girl who advised me to keep my baby. i decided to take her advice. right there and then i decided i was going to keep my baby because i read stories of girls who terminated their pregnancies and they were all feeling so down.i carried on with school even though i was pregnant. people teased me and passed snorty comments and ugly stares at me. it broke my heart but i tried to stay strong.

on december,18 i had a baby girl. after she let out her first cry i knew i had done the right thing, all that i went through was worth it. i cant stop admiring her toothless smile. her eyes bring me peace and absolute joy. she is my everything.

I really admire you!! That is a hard thing to think about. That is exactly what I am going through. I am scared that people will give me snide remarks but ya know what, it seems to be all worth it in the end to see a beautiful baby right in front of your eyes. Hope we can talk!!

you've got a very good decision. i'm so proud of you. not all women can bear a child, and you're so lucky that you can...thanks to God for the wonderful blessings you received...don't be bothered bout the people who teased you, they're just envied what you have right now... everything that happened to our lives has its own reason. and i know God has a very good reason why he give you such wonderful responsible...smilies/smiley.gif God bless!

I am 23 years old, a newly registered nurse. I know I am on the right age and time to become pregnant. I love my boyfriend so much that i am willing to bear our baby. I hope I am strong enough to face my parents and let them realize my situation.

I'm glad you kept your baby smilies/smiley.gif i was 15 when i fell pregnant and 16 when i had my son. I don't agree with abortions unless the baby wouldn't have any chance of surviving birth for medical reasons or wouldn't survive their first birthday.

I think too many teenagers rely on abortions they see it as a quick way out but what they don't realise is they have to live with it for the rest of their lives and probably will regret it. I think it's great teenagers can look up to other teenagers who kept their babies and managed to survive and the baby is leading a happy and healthy life.

Wow... I admire you. I would love to ask you a question, I hope it's ok with you.
How do you manage financially?
I'm asking because I will also be a mother soon and I don't have an education. My fiance is a chef but doesnt earn that much. What type of jobs do you do?

Good luck with everything,
Em
