Its different for everyone but if you have a regular cycle then its a lot easier. You can do it based on the varying lengths if thats what you have but you could to end up with a whole week of dates to look for. soooo...
Say your cycle is 28 days to make it easy. Ovulation is the 24-48 hour window you have to get pregnant and its right in the middle. So it should be the 14th day at it's height but may begin the 13th or 15th so just 3 days to look for.
Although you may become pregnant at anytime just because things may be unstable in routine these are your best bets!
