TOPIC: a mixture of curiosity and fear

a mixture of curiosity and fear 3 years, 10 months ago #20091

Okay, so, my name is Nicola. I am 16 years old and right now, as the name of my thread suggests, I have a big mixture of curiosity and fear right now. You see, it's now the 29th of July, and there has been no sign of my period- well, in terms of bleeding! You see I've been having some painful cramps, as well as that crampy-icky feeling that I get in my stomach, but no sign of bleeding. As you would imagine, I am kind of worried by this. My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and 4 months now, and for about 3 months we have been having unprotected sex on and off- when he has a condom we'll use one but when he doesn't we won't. I know this is foolish, but he insists that it's okay, that he'll pull out in time. He also likes it better without a condom because it feels nicer. Anyways, getting back to the point, I have also had some worrying experiences this month A few times now when I have been in the shower in the morning, I have started to feel really nauseas and dizzy, and have felt like I was about to faint, so I have to sit down for a few minutes to try to regain myself to get OUT of the shower.

Also, I have been having an exremely painful, well... pain, in my lower stomach, that has been to the point where I can't walk until it goes away. However, this COULD be due to the fact that during this summer I haven't been waking up till around 11, and the first thing I do is have a shower. Normally by this time I would have at least have breakfast, so it could possibly just be a sign that I need to eat- and soon! but I'm not entirely sure.

Furthermore, earlier on this week I was at the nail parlour with my mum to get our feet done, I started to feel really warm, and my stomach felt awful, then I started to breathe more heavily and got what I think would be considered a black out, since... everything went black, and I could see for about 30 seconds. Of course then the only thing that I needed was a washroom, where I ended up throwing up... it wasn't pleasant

So the jist of this email is that: IS there a possibility that I could be pregnant? or is the fact that my period hasn't come yet possible be due to stress? Also, what are your guys thoughts on the pains that I have been having, and the cramps-but-no-bleeding??
thankyou for reading this and I hope to hear a reply soon!!!

you really need to take a pregnancy test, hun. All the symptoms sound like you mat be pregnant, but if you're not you need to see a doc about the symptoms you are having.
Let us know how you are.

sweety, preggo test urslf ASAP... it sounds like preg symptoms, BUT on the other hand, i read this article about girls who have an overdue period, and they show the exact symptoms u are having, and the #1 cause is stress and low blood sugar, so if u not preg, i advice u 2 reflect ur diet and life and see if u r lacking sum vital vitamins or under stress and see a doctor, and best of all is 2 talk 2 sum1, it helps to share the load! and, il b ere if u need a friend
wishing u the best of luck and hope u fwl beta soon

thankyou for replying guys, I really appreciate it. unfortunately I haven't yet been able to go out and by myself a pregnancy test yet.... But i can promise that I will go as soon as possible. The last period that I had was last month, it was late though so it didn't come until (I THINK) the 18th-20th? See, the last two months my period has been kind of off- in May it was really early, and then in June it was really late. And then this month...well, I haven't had my period yet. Like I said in my first post, I have had the symptoms that I get WITH my period such as the cramps, but no blood. I will definitely go to see my doctor after I have had the pregnancy test, because if the test DOES come out negative then I want to look into whether I am having an overdue period. Thanks again guys, I really appreciate the support and help, especially since I'm so worried/nervous and haven't really had anyone else to talk to about this without them starting to question me non stop- unfortunately my friends have a habit of doing that, and the responses they give to anything is normally negative.

okay.... I asked my boyfriend to pick me up a home test because I couldn't get to one, and he did. I also had the perfect chance to take it as well, as we were going to the movies tonight. So I took the test when I got there and... it came out positive. I am in fact pregnant... and I don't think I've been more scared in my life. The strange thing is, although I've had a pregnancy scare before... This time, it's kind of different. Before I was scared out of my mind the whole time until I bought a test... this time, I've been much more... calm? Those pains that I have been having went away for about two days, but they returned yesterday morning more severe than ever. This morning was just as bad, if not worse. As much as I had had hope that I wouldn't be pregnant, that I wouldn't have to go through all of this... I think a part of me kind of knew that I was. Please... any help, or advice, or ANYTHING that you girls can give me... it would really be appreciated at a time like this for me. Thanks girls, Nicola.
