Hey everyone. Sorry I havent gotten back to you. I figured that posting in the forums would be the quickest way of getting back to everyone. My fiance and I started renting a house so we don't have the internet anymore so Im only on every once in a while when we're at his aunts house...

Yes, we planned on naming the baby Dominick Alejandro but we decided to name him Dominick Richard. My fiance was really close with his pap and his paps name was Paul Richard and everyone called him \"Rich\" so we decided to give Dominick the middle name after him...

I was induced on Jan 19th at 8:30am and had him at 7:21am on Jan 20th,He was 6lbs, 12ounces and 19in long. He was born with beautiful skin! My fiance is puerto rican so it was dark but usually newborns have wrinkly skin or are usually lighter but not him. He was born with dark, soft skin. He was also born with a FULL head of dark brown hair. We thought his eyes were brown but recently realized theyre blue! I'm so happy b/c he looks NOTHING like me. He looks exactly like his dad and now he has something of me haha

Since they induced me, 2cm dialated felt like 8. lol so they gave me the epidural (WHICH DIDNT HURT AT ALL!). From that point on, I didnt feel ANYTHING.. It was so much fun actually. They also had me on pain med which made me a little loopy and I was naming off random foods that I wanted b/c I wasnt allowed to eat for about 24hours. Well, when the doctor was tellin me to push, my fiance kept telling me to \"do it for the cheesburger!\" and I busted out laughing. He tells everyone that. lol It took about 20min of pushing for him to pop out. It was amazing that a fully developed BABY was inside of me!

Well, Dominick is 11 days old and he is beautiful and healthy. My pap-pap died yesterday and today we have to go to the funeral. He really wanted to see the baby but never had the chance b/c the roads were covered with ice and we couldnt make it up his driveway to let him see the baby and we were planning on taking him this week but its too late...I feel like crap b/c if i maybe would have pushed the issue a little more, he would have gotten to see his great grandpap before he passed...

Well, thats my novel of giving birth lol again, sorry i didnt get back to any of you.. i hope all is well!!!

Those first few weeks especially are so precious, spending time snuggling and just staring at every detail of your baby!

It is absolutley amazing when you think about how developed their little bodies are, how they have ten fingers, ten toes, ears, a nose, a mouth... everything they need! And to think that it was all developing into that beautiful little baby inside of you! And to know that the shapes of his features are like yours or his fathers, and to know that he will have some of your personality traits and some of his own. It just blows my mind every time I think about it!

Get as much rest as you can! Post pictures when you get a chance.

CONGRATULATIONS I HOPE THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE FINE. WELL YOUR LUCKY I STILL HAVE 9 WKS TO GO AND I CANT TAKE IT ANY MORE

I'm sure you're going through such bittersweet emotions. I'm sorry about your pap-pap. My great-grandfather died three weeks before I was born and my family always said my birth eased their pain. Obviously you'll enjoy your baby regardless, but I especially hope he brings you great comfort. Congratulations on your little blessing!
