Awwww sweaty I know exactly how you feel. I allowed \"society\" to dictate whether or not I should have a baby. I also grew up with a mom who always told me it would be stupid to get pregnant and not have an abortion at my age. I truly went into a deep deep depression because just like you I felt so empty, the moment I woke up from my abortion I regretted it and i've felt empty ever since. Its a feeling that never leaves you many of my friends just got pregnant right after the abortion to compinsate but I watch them with such anger because you can replace what was taken. Honestly I cant give you any advice on how to get over it because I haven't but I'm here to talk if you need to. Please dont hesitate that seems to be the only thing that works for me.

I think you must forgive yourself, as it seems you have guilt not only for having had the abortion, but also not being able to stand up to your mom. I don't know if you're religious or not, but if you are, I think you should pray about your feelings and ask for forgiveness from God if that's your way of thinking. It would be a good idea to get counseling, especially since you're vulnerable to getting pregnant again in trying to fill the void you feel now. There are so many other girls going through what you are now. I hope you get a lot of responses to your post from them.

Hi! I would first like to say that your mom was wrong and out of line, it was in NO way her decision. I had 2 kids by the time I was 16, and they are healthy, smart, beautiful girls now. I never thought about abortion, but people did try and talk me into adoption, but it wasnt for me. I am 22 years old, have 3 girls, go to school, am a wife, and own a home; so dont let people tell you that you cant do it because you can. I am now pregnant with number 4, but because of circumstances, I have to terminate the pregnancy. It is the hardest thing I will ever do, but it was my decision. i know how you feel. I had my abortion 3 months ago. I was pushed into having one by my partner everyone told me that i should keep it, but i went along with what my partner told me to do i didnt stand up to him, and now i wish that i did coz i have nothing but emptyness left in my heart.

Im still not on birth control havent been since 3 weeks after my abortion. But im going to start taking them when i get my next period (which should come next week). I have also suffered from depression and now i see a social worker once a week to help me. It was wrong of your mum to say that to you, you also had the right to decide what you wanted to do.
