Has anyone here had any first hand experience of a baby/child with downs syndrome? I wanted to chat to someone about raising a child with downs and what are the long term commitments, what are the expectations of ability etc ?

A scan showed indications one of the (fraternal) twins I'm carrying may have downs, I've had blood work done which also indicates this and am waiting on the results of amniocentesis which will confirm or deny it definitively. It looks pretty probably he will have downs, so I'm trying to prepare myself.

Any advice or info would be welcome
